Great Wall of China, one of the seven wonders in the world. It is one of the high lights you must see for a tour in Beijing. Summer Palace,a huge garden for the emperor and his family spend in the Summer time. The driver and guide will pick you up at the hotel at 8:00am in the morning. It takes 1.5 hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall.
The Great Wall at Mutianyu is a little further from Beijing than the most popular section at Badaling, but it doesn't get crowded. This section of the Wall is fully restored, there are hand rails to help you up on the very steep parts and the views are spectacular. You will have your choice of taking a cable car or chair lift up and spend 2-3 hours hiking on the Wall. Then you have the option of taking a toboggan ride back down or simply return the way you came.
After lunch at local dumpling restaurant, another 1.5 hours to the Summer Palace.
Once a summer retreat for emperors, this 716-acre park is still a retreat for the crowd-weary tourist, who can relax here or stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and huge lake, stopping occasionally at a shop or tea-house. Much-loved summer retreat of the Imperial families, the lovely landscaped gardens, halls, pavilions and corridors are set around the lake and rivers in natural harmony. Then drive you back to the hotel.
