Explore the main themes of contemporary art in a captivating way, in a 90-minutes tour to be experienced as a constant dialogue between painting, sculpture, architecture, music and photography. From Futurism to the return to tradition, the Novecento museum is an exciting voyage across the Twentieth century!
The starting point of the tour is in front of the “Quarto Stato” painting by Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, marking the beginning of the Twentieth century with the theme of the social role of workers.
Then the visitors enter the world of Futurism, the incredible vanguard that changed dramatically the artistic outlook in Italy and in the whole Europe, with their innovative approach connecting paintings, sculptures and even music.
Following a strict chronological sequence, we discover a sudden return to tradition during the Fascist regime, and then the development of the informal style after WWII. The tour ends with the fundamental works of Manzoni and Fontana, two amazing personalities within the context of the Italian art scene in the Fifties and Sixties.
