Meet your informative and friendly guide at Churchgate railway station in South Mumbai before embarking on your culinary tour of street food specialties. With your small group you’ll have the opportunity to try Mumbai classics as well as some lesser-known foods.

No food tour in Mumbai is complete without a stop at Chowpatty beach, the best place to taste Mumbai’s vegetarian favorites such as bhel puri (a snack made of puffed rice, vegetables and tangy tamarind sauce) and pav bhaji (a spicy mixture of mashed vegetables).

Get a taste of cuisine unique to the bustling food stalls around Mohammed Ali Road — a foodie’s paradise. Observe vendors cooking up all sorts of meats; don’t be surprised to see kidney, liver, brain, or trotters (hooves) sizzling on tavas (metal griddles)! Witness the buzz of activity surrounding nearby Minara Masjid, one of dozens of mosques in Mumbai and the epicenter of the city’s Ramadan celebrations. Your guide will also take you on a stroll through the lanes of Bhendi Bazaar, a market in the historical Muslim neighborhood, as you learn about the site’s multi-million dollar redevelopment plan.

Before your food tour is complete, enjoy a taste of hand-churned ice cream in unfamiliar flavors at a shop established more than a century ago. Alternatively, satisfy your sweet tooth with a super sugary, bright-orange jalebi (a deep-fried sweet soaked in syrup) — yum!
