Czech Republic offers some great terrains for mountain biking. Thanks to the Czech laws you can ride your bicycle nearly wherever you want – all woods are fully open to the public and they are full of great tracks that are just waiting to be discovered. If you want to see the Czech countryside and you enjoy adventure, join us for this special Sunday ride. You'll meet at the Prague Main Railway Station, and from there you'll travel by train to Čerčany for 50 minutes. There, get equipped with bicycles and helmets. During the trip you'll ride along the River Sázava - a very traditional recreational place for Czechs. The route of the first part of our trip is flat with no steep hills. After 10 kilometers, it's time to stop for a break to explore ruins of a medieval castle which is located above the River. FYI, the upcoming kilometers are more challenging – there are some climbs into hills. As you move on, dive into a forest with many hidden tracks which guide the group through it. Then you'll come back to the river into a small village called Žampach, where you'll find a good restaurant for lunch. There is also the highest stone bridge in Central Europe nearby. In the late afternoon you'll arrive in the town of Týnec nad Sázavou, from where the group will take the train back to Prague (expected return will be around 6:35pm).

Who is this trip for?
For anyone who is not afraid to ride around 50 km on a bicycle. There are some challenging hills during the trip, but the guides and group will always wait for everybody on the top. The main goal of the trip is to be outside, fill your lungs with some fresh air and create some good memories from your visit of the Czech Republic.

Why come for a trip to this region?
The region of the River Sázava is located just 30 kilometers south of Prague. Czech people know this region under the name Posázaví (in translation “place around the River Sázava”) as a symbol of health and preserved nature. It is well-known as the place where Czech people traditionally come to spend their weekends and vacations.

Visitors to this region come across hundreds of small cottages often built on sharp cliffs overlooking the valley of the river. The River Sázava created a magnificent landscape which, in combination with deep woods and the stylish cottages, may remind you of early settlers who were colonizing the North America hundreds years ago. So called "tramps" were visiting this region, especially, during the communism era to live their American dream on the imaginary Klondike River. By this way they could partly compensate the lack of freedom at that time, in the communist Czechoslovakia. The River Sázava was also the place where gold was extracted. It's no surprise that the railroad which goes around the River is named symbolically Posázavský Pacifik.

What bicycles will we use?
You'll ride bicycles with Deore derailleur, aluminum frame and a front suspension. The guides will try to choose a suitable size according to your height so you can fully enjoy the trip.
