This impressive volcano will stun you in many ways, from its massive perspective to its dense vegetation permitted by cowls lava and fertile ground.It has erupted many times in a powerful way, making the Merapi become a legendary piece of the surroundings. You will also enjoy the local legends about Merapi's spirit and past eruptions, which happened to be very serious at some point so that its activity is well observed and follow by many volcanologists.
You will be picked you up at your hotel around 10.00 p.m. Then we drive you to Selo Village, located on the northern side of the volcano.
After preparation we start to climb at midnight and it takes you around six hours to climb to the peak.
Once at the top you will enjoy the first rays of sun to warm us up, then after see the sunrise we go down for 5 hours. You can admire the city of Yogyakarta in the South and the Merbabu volcano on the eastern side.
Then you will have a small rest enjoying the view from Pasar Bubar before climbing down to Selo. A vehicle will be waiting for you in Selo to drive you back to Yogyakarta in the afternoon.
