You can only see the fire during the night, and afterwards you will be able to have excellent views of the fantastic landscape of the largest acid lake in Java, the Ijen Crater.

Your tour begins around 4pm - 4:30pm (depending on where you are staying) when you are picked up from your Bali Accommodation by your driver and driven to West Bali harbor/Gilimanuk harbor by vehicle. You will arrive at the harbor around 11pm -11:30pm and then you will cross the sea heading to Banyuwangi, East Java. It will takes 30 minutes in the ferry to cross the sea. After you arrived at Banyuwangi harbor around 12am -12:30am you will go directly to the starting point of Mount Ijen trekking. When you arrive at the starting point around 1am - 1:30am, you will then be given a briefing and your safety equipment including a torchlight and gas mask. Trekking to the top of mountain will start at 1:45am.
Your trek will take between 1 – 2 hours to reach the summit. The route is approximately 3 kilometres which is divided into 3 parts being 800 meters slightly uphill, 1 kilometre uphill and then 1.2 kilometres flat. During your trek, you can meet some of the strongest men in the world who are sulphur miners. These minors carry the sulphur which weighs around 60 to 80 kilograms with bamboo's sticks in their shoulder.
Upon arrival at the summit around 3am - 3:30am, if the weather is clear, you can see the blue fire and also the Milky Way. You will be guided down to see the blue fire for the best photographs depending on the weather conditions and wind direction as your safety is paramount. From the viewing points, you can take photos of Ijen blue fire, and also the mining activity with the traditional technique using iron sticks and no safety tools for the miner.
Before you head back down, enjoy a light breakfast on top of Mountain Ijen around 6am. You also can take the light breakfast after arrive in the parking lot as alternative, just tell your tour guide before trekking.
You will then get to see the largest acid lake on Java Island, Ijen Crater. It will take around 1 hour to get back down to the bottom. At 7am - 8am you will get back to the parking lot/starting point for your transfer to Banyuwangi harbor. 10am -10:30am you will be in the ferry going back to Bali, arrive at Bali harbor around 11am -11:30am. Then you will head to your hotel. Towards the end of your journey, your lunch will be provided in a local restaurant on the way to your hotel at 12pm (noon) -12:30pm. You will finally arrived at your hotel again around 3pm - 4pm.
