Delve into the 1000-year history of Venice on a 2.5-hour combined walking tour through the lesser known streets between St. Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge, then skip the line to admire the gilded interiors of St. Mark's Basilica, one of the world's most iconic cathedrals, including the rarely seen Golden Pall. The first part of the tour will leave near St. Mark’s Basilica, where you will meet your guide for a walking tour of some of the most Eastern-influenced areas of Venice, from St. Mark’s Square to the Rialto Bridge.

Your guide will focus on the unique history of Venice outside some its most famous sites. You will admire the Byzantine façade of St. Mark’s Basilica and the magnificent architecture of the Doge’s Palace. Then you will head towards Campo Santa Maria Formosa to learn the story of one of Venice most beautiful churches, you will see the former home of world-known explorer Marco Polo and finally pass the Malibran Theatre, known for having the most extravagant stage in Venice.

You will be led back to St. Mark's Square for an approximately 1.5-hour break before your skip-the-line tour of St. Mark’s Cathedral. Enjoy your free time strolling along the Riva degli Schiavoni or as you prefer and then meet your guide for the second part of the tour outside St. Mark's. Learn the history of one of the world’s most iconic cathedrals and, once inside, admire its gilded mosaics and the rarely seen Pala d’Oro (Golden Pall), one of the most accomplished works of Byzantine art.
