The morning half-day trip on the Rogue River through Hellgate Canyon is our most scenic half-day trip. The forbidding walls of Hellgate Canyon rise out of the water at the rivers edge marking a dramatic point of transition into the whitewater downstream. As we float through the canyon osprey and eagles fly over head as the search the river for fish. The morning trip flows through two distinct gorges and concludes with two of the best class II rapids on the day section of the Rogue River so if you want to get out on the river before the heat really sets in join us for our scenic morning trip.

The morning half-day trip on the Rogue River through Hellgate Canyon is our most scenic half-day trip. The forbidding walls of Hellgate Canyon rise out of the water at the rivers edge marking a dramatic point of transition into the whitewater downstream. As we float through the canyon osprey and eagles fly over head as the search the river for fish. The morning trip flows through two distinct gorges and concludes with two of the best class II rapids on the day section of the Rogue River so if you want to get out on the river before the heat really sets in join us for our scenic morning trip.
You will meet your guides and get fitted in your gear before having the chance to pick-up any last minute items like sunscreen or straps for your sunglasses. When everyone is prepared for the adventure we have about a 10 minute van ride to the river.
When the group arrives you can take a few minutes to get your sunscreen loaded on while the guides get all of the boats ready to go. When the boats are ready the head guide will do a quick but thorough orientation on the type of boat you will be going down the river in (Orange Torpedo Kayak, Paddle Raft, or Oared Raft). When everyone is geared up it’s time to load in and start rafting the Rogue River. The adventure starts right away with the swift water leading into Hellgate Canyon, a scenic wonderland with forbidding cliffs rising from the water on both shores.
At the conclusion of Hellgate canyon is the groups first class II, Dunn Riffle, which is followed quickly by another fun class II rooster tail. After these riffles the group as a few scenic miles to take in the incredible Southern Oregon scenery while floating towards upper and Lower Galice, two more thrilling class II rapids, back to back. After the exciting finish to the trip with Upper and Lower Galice Creek the group rounds to corner to see the waiting van at the boat ramp. A 15 minute van ride will return you.
