Your bungee-jumping experience begins with pickup from your hotel in Monterrey for the 30-minute ride by minivan to the jump site at the Cola de Caballo Hotel in Villa de Santiago.
After listening to a safety briefing, put on your harness with the help of your instructors, and then head up to the platform. Perched high above, you might focus on the sweeping views of the pine and oak forests of the Sierra de Santiago to calm your nerves before the descent.
Whether you’re jumping for the first time or you consider yourself a pro, your expert instructors will guide you on what kind of jump to take. As you walk to the end of the platform, the others in your group start a countdown.
Three . . . two . . . one! Take a deep breath, and jump!
Hurtle some 230 feet (70 meters) into the green abyss, free falling for several seconds. Dip hair-raisingly close to the tree tops, and then bounce back as the adrenaline from your feat kicks in.
As you holler victory, enjoy the multiple rebounds of the cord. Relax as you’re hoisted back up, and then step back onto the platform.
Enjoying your natural high from your daredevil venture, head toward the cafeteria next to the platform area for some lunch (own expense). After everyone has jumped, the minivan will take you back to your hotel in Monterrey. Congratulations, you have just checked off a major item from your bucket list!
