Explore pristine, untouched wilderness on this 90-minute flight tour through Misty Fjords National Monument.  From your own personal window seat aboard a Dehavilland Beaver (DHC-2) bush plane, view cascading waterfalls, dramatic cliffs, and lush mountaintops covered in old growth forest.  Interact with you professional, veteran pilot via two-way radio on this small group tour a short flight from Ketchikan.40 Miles east of Ketchikan, Alaska, Misty Fjords National Monument has drawn comparisons to California’s famed Yosemite Valley for its dramatic, glacier-carved granite cliffs, impossibly tall waterfalls and abundant wild-life.  With more than 2.3 million acres of protected wilderness shrouded in fog and flowing water, visiting the area is like stepping back in time to an era before people existed and the world was new.

The 1.5-hour flight starts with a commentary van pick-up from the dock at the Ketchikan Visitor Center, where most ships moor, and continues to the facility where you will meet your pilot and begin your tour.  Your plane, the Dehavilland Beaver (DHC-2), is the quintessential Alaskan bush plane offering up to six passengers each their own window seat.  After finding your seat, you will be outfitted with a noise-reducing radio headset allowing clear, two-way communication with your pilot throughout your experience.

As you approach the national monument, you may see mountain goats resting on crisp snow or black bears foraging for fresh berries as you approach the 3,000 ft. tall granite walls, fractured by time and scoured by glaciers thousands of years ago.  Misted mountains lift snowfields and wildflowers above tree line while waterfalls cascade out of rock clefts and disappear into the forest slopes.  The incredible views and colorful narration of your veteran pilot and expert guide will combine to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience on your incredible Alaskan vacation.
