Located in a beautiful building complex of immense archaeological, historical, and architectural value, the Mille Miglia museum is dedicated to helping you appreciate the extraordinary sporting event while illustrating a cross section of Italian culture, history, and social customs.Opened on November 10, 2004, this special museum situated inside the Monastery of Saint Eufemia (a beautiful building complex of immense archaeological, historical, and architectural value) is dedicated to exploring and illuminating the Mille Miglia (“Thousand Miles”), Brescia’s legendary car race.
During your museum visit, you'll see private collector cars up close. These cars are periodically replaced in case of participation in event, with the largest turnover usually taking place on the occasion of the Mille Miglia Storica (middle of May).
Your self-guided, experiential museum visit (clearly marked by a red walkway meandering across all the sections of the museum) will take you along the entire physical and historical route of the Mille Miglia across Italy, passing through regions, cities, and crowds of people. And of course, you'll see images of the participants in the event – the cars and drivers.
Your visit ends with a look at the rare collection of cars and car-related items dedicated to the historical Mille Miglia competition, located in the medieval stables of the Monastery.
