For the most engaging way to experience the riches of Fiordland National Park. This tour includes three modes of transport on land, sea and in the air making this the ‘holy grail’ of combination tours. Enjoy a scenic coach trip on a glass-roof 50-seater before sitting back on your relaxing cruise. Finish the day in the air as you soak in the views from above.Your tour begins with a complimentary pick-up from your central Queenstown accommodation (charges may apply to rural locations). Leaving Queenstown from 6.30am depending on accommodation location, travel in comfort through rugged mountain terrain through Te Anau, a quiet town on the shores of the largest lake in the South Island. After morning tea in Te Anau, the journey continues through the Southern Alps and along the picturesque Eglinton Valley, a place of ancient alpine forest and gushing waterfalls and one of only a few road-accessible glacier valleys in New Zealand.
Take advantage of the photo opportunities on offer along the Milford Road, like the stunning Mirror Lakes, where on a calm day the surrounding mountain ranges are perfectly reflected in the still waters and Knobs Flat, where glaciers have carved their mark on the terrain. Travel through the Homer Tunnel, a 1.2km passageway drilled into solid rock stopping at Monkey Creek and Experience the Chasm, a short but impressive walk over footbridges, spanning a series of powerful, swirling waterfalls and rapids.
The second half of the adventure begins in Milford Sound, where your driver escorts you to the boat docks to board your Milford Sound Cruise. This purpose-built catamaran traverses the full length of the 12km fiord over 1-hour and 45-minutes. Aboard, enjoy a buffet lunch, with complimentary tea and coffee. Spacious outdoor viewing decks allow you to take in all of the Fiordland scenic highlights, including waterfalls taller than Niagra Falls, and an array of indigenous flora and fauna.
Following your Milford Sound cruise meet your pilot to embark on your return flight to Queenstown, which takes in aerial views of many pristine alpine lakes and waterfalls that Fiordland National Park is recognized for, including the Sutherland Falls which span 580m (1904ft), flight time is 35-minutes. After enjoying your scenic flight back from Milford Sound landing back in Queenstown, we will return you to your accommodation to complete the journey.
Please Note: If the weather is not permitting for the flight, you will return by coach.
