Join this 3-hour tour and explore on the the world's most unique locations.The Ciudad Mitad del Mundo is the tourist, cultural, scientific and commercial center of Ecuador. Its architecture is based on colonial style and, nowadays, has stores where handcrafts from all over Ecuador can be found. It also has restaurants offering national and international gastronomy, traditional and gourmet. This is the meeting point of the most colorful cultural exhibitions and popular Ecuadorian art, making this small city one of the main tourist attractions in all continental Ecuador.
After morning pickups, the tour will start at the northern part of the city and head to the Middle of the World, entrance is included, where the monument that divides the Northern from the Southern Hemisphere stands. The first monument on this site was built during the XVII century when a French expedition defined the location of the equatorial line.
After the visit, you will have the option to visit either Intiñan Solar Museum or Ethnographic Museum for an interactive tour, where you will learn the history of the area's ancestral villages to the magnificent effects produced by the sun in the solar system. Entrance fees to these museums is not included.
