After hotel pickup by minivan, your guide transfers your small group to one of the best spa retreats in Taipei. Soak your feet as you relax in a comfortable recliner and prepare to be pampered with a Chinese foot massage. It's a great way to unwind before your award-winning meal at Din Tai Fung restaurant.

An expert soothes your muscles during a tension-releasing foot massage for 40 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of shoulder massage. If you’d like, choose from a variety of other massage options (at additional cost).

Then satisfy your food cravings in the late evening as you gather with your small group for dinner at the Taipei 101 skyscraper. Enter the world-renowned Din Tai Fung restaurant, a Michelin-star establishment started in Taipei that now has outposts around the world.

This popular eatery, known for its quality dim sum and exceptional service, is most famous for making xiao long bao, which the cooks prepare in an open kitchen. It's a display worth watching as you wait for your meal.

Settle into your cushioned booth or plush chair in comfortable surroundings as you’re served this signature dish along with other culinary specialties such as shao mai dumplings with sweet and sour soup (see a sample menu below). An instruction card teaches you how to eat the dumplings properly, but your guide will enlighten you on Taiwanese cuisine and answer any questions you have.

After you’ve had your fill, you’re driven back to your hotel, surely feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Sample menu:
  • Hot and sour soup: usually meat-based, this broth contains ingredients to make it both spicy and sour
  • Xiao long bao dumplings: traditionally steamed in small bamboo baskets, each bun is characteristically filled with pork and soup
  • Shao mai (siumai) dumplings: also referred to as pork and mushroom dumplings, they include shrimp, Chinese black mushrooms, scallions and ginger
  • Steamed vegetable and ground pork dumplings: this common Chinese dumpling generally consists of minced meat and finely chopped vegetables wrapped into a piece of dough skin
  • Fried rice with egg: steamed rice stir-fried in a wok and mixed with other ingredients
