Prepare to be literally wined and dined on this 5-hour excursion that begins with pickup at your Mendoza hotel. A comfortable minivan shuttles you around the capital city of this wine-producing region to try some of its tastiest bounty, chosen by your expert guide.
First, your small group visits Clos de Chacras, a boutique winery dating back to 1921. Taste up to three wines aged in underground cellars on this rustic property — the Cavas de Crianza, a blend of malbec, merlot and cabernet sauvignon is much lauded — and learn how the conditions yield these quality varietals.
The next stop, just a 10-minute ride away, is Club Tapiz. The multifaceted property includes a hotel, restaurant, winery and olive oil factory, not to mention impressive views of the Andes from the surrounding vineyards. Inside the restored 19th-century building, visit the production facility to see how olive oil is made. Take delight in the fresh scent and taste of the recently pressed oil, made from olives plucked from 80-year-old trees.
Finish at the Club Tapiz restaurant, Terruño. Eat a 4-course meal of regional delights that might include steak or lamb-filled ravioli, locally made goat cheese and black olive spread. The meal is paired with reds and whites made just steps away. After a day of experiencing the region’s best in food and drink, relax as you are transported back to your Mendoza hotel.
Please note: A minimum of 2 people per booking is required.
