• 07:30am: from your hotel in Saigon, enjoy a pleasant drive on the secondary road 50 (not the Highway 1!!) to Can Giuoc (30km) and pay a short visit to a beautiful and colorful local Cao Dai Temple – a combination of most of major religions on earth
• Another short drive (15km) will take us to Can Duoc market – a stunning rural market on its informal setting and friendly market goers
• Have a short ride on My Loi ferry to cross Vam Co River and then drive to Go Cong then Tan Hoa (25km) with some more breaks en route to visit a couple of local families’ legumes nursery and witness an unbelievable form of labor-intensive which has not changed over three generations! Seed by seed, they can make a farm of few hundred thousand of chili sprouts…
• Upon arriving in Tan Hoa, you will enjoy a stunning and easy bike ride (student bikes on flat and quiet villages’ paths for around 7km – alternatively you can choose to hop on the back of a scooter with your own driver) through some remote villages dotted with coconut palm trees stretching along the paddy fields
• Drive to Tan Thanh beach (5km, muddy beach, not for swimming) for a beautiful seafood lunch at a beach front restaurant
• Drive from Tan Thanh to My Tho pier (45km). Enjoy a fantastic cruise on the Upper Mekong, lined with many floating fish farms, to Ben Tre then being transferred to small sampan to wind through a green, lush, picturesque and Amazon-like creek of Tan Thach..
• Drive through Rach Mieu suspension-bridge for a breath-taking view of the Upper Mekong and its islets. Follow the highway 1 and the freeway to get back to Saigon (75km)
