This special opportunity allows you to comprehend the whole city and get tips from a local. Check out Medellin from every angle: touristy city places, full day tour to colonial Santa Fé de Antioquia, and enjoy local dishes. Tour hours are flexible so you may choose to start at your convenience.Your driver will meet you at your hotel and head north to your first stop. You will stop at a little town called Pueblito Paisa, a cozy replicate of a typical Colombian village sitting in the center of the city which allows you to share outstanding panoramic views of the Medellin valley. There will be free time to walk around and take photos or grab snacks. After a guided visit, your local guide will wait for you to go on to the next stop downtown to visit barefoot park, the park of lights and the infamous Fernando Botero Plaza where 23 amazing statues of the most popular local artists reside.
In the late morning, the tour takes you back in history to the first colonized town in Antioquia called Santa Fé de Antioquia. Which is one of the most significant villages in our geography due to the arrival of Spanish troops more than 400 years ago. Amazing views of the Cauca canyon can be shared as you are headed northwest and leaving the city behind. Especially at the San Sebastian gondola ride along the canyon where you can share spectacular views and lush landscapes passing along the native farmers and their crops.
After about a one hour ride you will arrive at Santa Fé de Antioquia, distinguished by its classy architecture and cultural heritage. A walk around the square is a good way to appreciate the Spanish buildings and the founder´s history. The best place to experience the colonial times is the Juan Del Corral Museum, which gathers objects, documents and historical facts about colonization in Antioquia. On the way out, the tour visits the Occidente Bridge which is a part of the national heritage of Colombia. The bridge is no longer used by cars since it is more than 200 years old but it has free access and you are free to walk around and take pictures of the spectacular views before going back to Medellin at the end of the day.
After approximately a fantastic journey through history of colonization in Medellin, your private driver/guide takes you back to your hotel or any other location you feel like.
