Enjoy a private full-day tour of the South of Mauritius in an air-conditioned vehicle. Bois Cheri Tea Plantation: Discover the history of tea in Mauritius, and learn about the tea making process La Vanille Réserve des Mascareignes: See giant tortoises and crocodiles in this one-of-a-kind nature reserve. Gris Gris and La Roche qui Pleure Admire the rugged scenery of the south of Mauritius, the most wild part of the island.
After you have been picked up at your hotel, visit Bois Chéri, the first tea plantation in Mauritius. Founded in 1892, Bois Cheri is nestled high on the central plateau, and is truly a world of it's own. You will have the option of visiting the tea plantation, tea factory, and museum. This experience will allow you to learn about the history of tea in Mauritius, it's impact in shaping the island, and the stages of production of tea from harvest and fermentation to drying, sieving and packaging. After the guided tour, you will have the option of sampling a variety of teas, while looking out over an extinct volcanic crater which has been transformed into a lake.

Explore La Vanille Réserve des Mascareignes and discover a variety of flora and fauna including palm and banana trees, giant bamboos, 2,000 Nile Crocodiles and 1,000 giant tortoises. You can also visit the insectarium on the reserve which boasts one of the best private collections in the world with 23,000 species.

See the true power of nature along Mauritius' south coast. Here, the coral reef does not protect the coast from the immense force of the ocean and you can witness powerful waves crashing on the cliffs at Gris Gris. You will have the chance to visit La Roche qui pleure (which means 'The Rock that Cries'), a natural rock formation that resembles a person crying when the waves hit it.
