The tour will take you to the main towns of Margarita Island.
Departure towards the north to the town of Pampatar well known for the shopping malls located in the area. Visit to San Carlos Borromeo Fortress, a Spanish fort built between 1662 and 1684 which nowadays serves as museum.
Continuation through El Valle del Espiritu Santo, spiritual capital and honoring place of the Virgen del Valle, patron saint of the island. The excursion continues to La Asunción, the capital. Then you will visit the Santa Rosa Castle, one of the seven forts built during Spanish rule to defend the island from pirate attacks. You will have the opportunity to walk around La Asunción’s cathedral; one of Venezuela’s most ancient.
Also a visit to the artisan production center of Pampatar is schedule. Here you will have the occasion to admire the islands pearls as well as other typical craft work.
