Check-in in the evening on the exclusive cruise, Yangtze Explorer (between 5pm and 10pm). Later, watch a documentary on the Three Gorges Project at the Mezzanine Theater or your cabin.
Day 2 - Xiling Gorge - Three Gorges Dam
Practice Taichi before International buffet breakfast is served. Take in the scenery of impressive Xiling Gorge landscape.
Optional trip to local villages at your expense for two and half hours you to discover marvelous landscapes and experience a traditional wedding (subject to changes and availability).
Next, visit Three Gorges Dam and Exhibition Center to explore the largest and most impressive dam in the world. The project started in 1992 and completed this year. Exclusive for guests of this tour, you will visit the Exhibition Center to see a model dam on a big scale. International buffet Lunch is provided on board. Later, learn the natural process of silk embroidery, a Chinese technique passed down through generations.
In the evening, attend Captain’s reception to welcome you on-board and enjoy performance by the crew and an À la carte dinner.
Day 3 - Tujia - Wu and Qutang Gorge
Taichi before breakfast. Disembark in Badong to join a local longboat (sampan) poled by Tujia boatmen wearing traditional handmade sandals. Crystal clear waters, verdant forests, and stunning river gorges provide an incredible backdrop for this experience. Later, enjoy international styled buffet lunch on-board. As the cruise passing through Wu and Qutang Gorge, enjoy the impressive height and discover the scenery printed on the $10 RMB banknotes.
Optional trip off board to White Emperor City at your own expense to discover this famous city among poets with various architecture styles and beautiful surroundings subject to time and weather conditions.
In the late afternoon, you will enter Qutang Gorge through two imposing cliffs at Kui Men gate which marks the western extremity of the gorge. An À la carte dinner will be served.
Day 4 - Fengdu
Chinese exercise before breakfast. Visit charming village of Fengdu and explore its Taoist temple and lively market. An international styled buffet Lunch is served on-board. Later, enjoy an arts & craft presentation as well as Chinese calligraphy demonstration and learn to write. A "Taste of China" themed dinner is provided.
Day 5 - Chongqing
After breakfast, disembark at 9am in Chongqing.
