This small-group tour provides a trouble-free tour to visit the magnificent scenery of terrace fields at Longji and explore the local minority villages and their tradition and culture. You could trek around the well-know Longji Rice Terraces and enjoy the local food for lunch. Professional tour guide will accompany you during the trip and provide whatever information you are interested.
Your English-speaking guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby in the city center of Guilin between 8:30 and 9:00 in the morning. After all the passengers are on board, we will set off for Longsheng. You will travel up and down in the mountain area and it will takes approx. 2 hours to reach the entrance of Longji Terraces Scenic Area.
Then it will takes 30 minutes to get to the minority village - Pingan Zhuang Village where you will have lunch and see tier upon tier of fields surrounding it. The car will park at the entrance of the village and you have to walk and hike for approx. 10 minutes. En-route you will have a chance to enjoy the fascinating view of the rice terraces. If you find the hiking too challenging, you have an option to get some help from the villagers.
After lunch at the restaurant in the village and take a short break, you will explore the village and Longji Rice Terraces by trekking around the area. Longji Terrace Field was constructed from Yuan Dynasty with a history of more than 700 years. The terraces are still used for growing premium quality rice by Yao and Zhuang villagers. The terrace fields are irrigated in May or June every year and the rice is harvest from the end of September to the middle of October. The best time to visit Longji Terraces is from May to September especially for people who love photography.
When the tour is concluded, your guide will lead everyone to start walking down to the car at 3:30pm and you will be driven back to your hotel in Guilin by 5:30pm.
