The battle saw the action of 108 ANZACS against a Viet Cong (North Vietnamese) force - external site estimated between 1,500 and 2,500. The Battle was one of the heaviest conflicts of the Vietnam War as well as one the few battles in the recorded history of the world to be won against such odds. Vietnam Veterans' Day, celebrated in Australia on 18 August each year, commemorates the Battle of Long Tan and those Australians who served during the Vietnam War and is an opportunity to remember those who did not come home.

Our Vietnam military tour starts from Ho Chi Minh with a drive to Vung Tau to see some famous battle sites such as the Long Tan Cross. We always try to find some of the local Vietnamese veterans who fought in the remarkable battle of Long Tan. Although extensively documented by the survivors of Australian’s heavily engagement of the war. Little is known of the Viet Cong’s actions and ultimate defeat at the hands of an enemy which heavily outnumbered them.
Out clients find that bringing the former protagonists together with a good interpreter and plenty of rice wine is an unforgettable experience for both sides.
We will pick up your hotel and depart to Vung Tau, stop off at Ba Ria Vung tau to pick up your travel permit to sites. Visit Long tan Cross, the horse. The horse shoe and the Long Phuoc tunnels. Visit Nui Dat (SAS hill). Return to Ho Chi Minh city. You can have a lunch on the way or until we get back Saigon. Finish the trip at your hotel. Say goodbye and hope see you again.
