9.00AM: Pass by Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and Linlithgow Palace — the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots — en route to Deanston Distillery, where you can take an optional tasting tour of this working whisky-distillery. Breakfast is available in the distillery cafe.
10.30AM: We enter the 'Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park', where your Scottish guide will tell you the story of Rob-Roy MacGregor, the most infamous Highlander to have ever lived.
11.45AM: You can then follow in the footsteps of James Bond (Skyfall) and Harry Potter (Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban) when we travel to the stunning and haunting 'Glencoe', a Highland valley whose eerie tales you’ll learn regarding the Clan MacDonald massacre of 1692.
12.30PM: We travel through Fort William, home to the largest mountain in the British Isles, Ben Nevis, standing at 4,409 feet
1.30PM: We arrive on the Southern banks of Loch Ness, in the charming village of Fort Augustus. There are lots of cafes, shops and restaurants here for you to have a relaxing lunch, and stroll along the banks of the Caledonian Canal. Experience the majesty of Loch Ness on a relaxing, hour-long Boat Cruise (from 2-3 PM), where you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Nessie herself!
3.45 PM: We visit the impressive ‘Commando Memorial’ at Spean Bridge, and indulge in the breath-taking views of the Nevis Range, a sight that will delight keen photographers.
4.15 PM: Entering the beautiful Cairngorms National Park, ‘Monarch of the Glen’ country, we drive along Loch Laggan, before stopping at the ‘Pattack Falls’. A short walk here takes us to pretty waterfalls, tumbling through a rocky gorge, as the river makes it way through our beautiful native forest. Look out for wild berries through Spring and Summer.
5.00 PM: We make our way over the ‘Pass of Drumochter’, a mountain pass created by glacial-action during successive Ice Ages, and links the Northern and Southern Central Highlands.
5.45 PM: We make a stop in beautiful Victorian town of Pitlochry, a popular Victorian tourist destination.
8.00 PM: We arrive back to Edinburgh City Centre.
