The Country Estate main memorial building is the two-storied dwelling house, which was built between 1800 and 1805 years. In the memorial garden of approximately 220 trees there are several trees aged more than 200 years.

Leo Tolstoy bought this Country Estate in July 1882. In October 1882 the writer’s family moved to Khamovniki Estate and lived there during the winter seasons until spring 1901. In summer seasons the Tolstoy’s family lived in their family Estate “Yasnaya Polyana”.

The Country Estate museum of Leo Tolstoy was open on the 20th of November in 1921. There are more than five thousand of real relics in the sixteen rooms of the Leo Tolstoy House.
