Half-Day Tour (4 Hours)
Select your departure time and leave Lisbon port with your private guide relaxing on the comfortable journey out to Fátima. As you travel, hear about the history of this once unknown rural village, which became famous in 1917 when the Virgin Mary, also known as Our Lady of Fátima, was said to have appeared to three local children.
With your private guide, explore the sites associated with this world-famous incident. Visit the impressively large Sanctuary Square, which is twice the size of St Peter’s Square in the Vatican, and see the Our Lady of Fátima Sanctuary, where millions of devoted Catholic pilgrims travel each year. As you stroll, hear intriguing facts about the sites from your knowledgeable private guide.
Later, enjoy free time to sightsee at your own pace. You might even have the opportunity to attend Mass or light a candle in the basilica. Then, reconnect with your guide and relax as you journey back to Lisbon to continue your cruise.
Full-Day Tour (7.5 Hours)
Follow the same itinerary as the half-day tour, with some extra free time for lunch (own expense). After you’ve eaten, meet up with your guide. Then, choose to pick up mementos of your Fátima experience during a visit to a religious artifacts factory, or delve deeper into the events of 1917 with a trip to the Fátima Wax Museum. Continue to the nearby town of Valinhos, where the three shepherd boys who witnessed the apparition were born and raised.
Later, return back to your cruise ship in Lisbon, where your tour concludes.
