For an even more behind-the-scenes look, upgrade to a Behind the Scenes tour around the ranch, where you can watch lions as they learn marks, play and devour their meals. Your up-close feline encounter begins when you enter the Lion Habitat Ranch near Las Vegas, the 8.5-acre (3.4-hectare) home to cats that previously worked at the MGM Lion Habitat. Since the early 1990s, the sanctuary has been the residence of more than 40 lions and their adorable cubs. The ranch staff provides care to the big cats for the rest of their natural lives, and donates a portion of proceeds to wild lion habitats. Stroll along the paved paths for unobstructed views of the giant cats lounging, playing and napping in their habitats. Behind the Scenes Small-Group Tour
If you would like to observe the hunters from a different vantage point, choose a Behind the Scenes tour. Limited to ten people, professional trainers answer any burning questions about raising and taming lions during an interactive Q&A. After you’ve learned about the inner workings of the sanctuary, explore the grounds on a guided tour. Watch as kings of the jungle and their cubs feed, train and bathe.
