Join Rita for an exciting day in Goa with a market visit, cooking class, and in-home meal. Rita is well known for her Goan cooking, even mentioned in cookbooks such as John Gregory Smith's “Mighty Spice Express” and was featured in Fox Traveller's “Twist of Taste.” You will get to taste her talents for yourself!
Your experience starts with a welcome drink and snacks, followed by a market tour and cooking class with Rita. You will visit a local market with Rita and discover local and regional Goan produce before returning home to the kitchen. You will learn to cook 3-4 traditional Goan dishes in Rita's colorful outdoor kitchen studio. Your adventure continues with a meal that you helped prepare with Rita and her family.
Your meal may start with sopa de abobara (pumpkin soup) and almyache dangar (mushroom cutlets) followed by tambdi bhaji (a stir fry of red amaranth leaves), khatkhate (mixed vegetable curry), chicken xacuti, chicken cafreal, pork vindaloo, and sannas. For dessert, you may have manganem (Bengal gram and sago in coconut milk). Enjoy the delicious dishes while discussing Goan cuisine and culture.
