Next, you will get acquainted with the reindeer. During the safari, you'll travel in a traditional Lappish sleigh pulled by your reindeer. Seated warmly on reindeer hides and covered with blankets, you will experience reindeer herding the way the Lappish do, and soak in the tranquility of nature all around you. The only interruption in the silence is the sound of reindeer hooves on the ice, and the sleigh being pulled over the snow. After about one hour, you will return to the reindeer farm. In the cozy main building or Lappish kota shelter of the farm, you will warm up and savor some coffee/tea. The herder will then teach you all about reindeer and reindeer herding before issuing your very own International Reindeer Driving License. After coffee/tea it’s time to say goodbye and return to Saariselkä.
