Learn stand-up paddleboarding on this half-day adventure to Lake Mead from Las Vegas. Practice balancing, moving forward and turning on your paddleboard under the watchful eye of your instructors. Take breaks to have a swim and enjoy lunch while floating on your paddleboard in the lake. No experience is necessary; all equipment is provided, and your instructor will tailor your paddleboarding experience to your group's ability and interests. Following pickup from your Las Vegas Strip hotel, travel by minivan approximately 30 miles (48 km) to Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the US. Created by the massive Hoover Dam, this placid lake is an ideal location for paddleboarding, no matter what your experience level.

After arriving at Lake Mead, your guide will outfit you with a properly fitted paddleboard and protective gear and demonstrate basic skills such as getting a good forward stroke, proper edging and quick turning. Practice balancing, paddling, edging, turning and stopping for awhile before taking a break for a refreshing swim! Then get back on your board for more paddling; depending on your group's skill and comfort level, you may venture out toward the picturesque Boulder Islands.

Enjoy a boxed lunch and learn about the history of Hoover Dam from your guide while floating on your stand-up paddleboard in the lake. Admire an extinct volcano called Fortification Hill in the distance.

Continue exploring the waters on your paddleboard; if it's a clear day, you may even see fish swimming below you! Afterward, dry off and board your minivan for the return journey, stopping at Hemenway Park on the way to see impressive bighorn sheep. Your 5-hour stand-up paddleboarding adventure ends with drop-off at your Las Vegas hotel.
