Lake Argyle is Australia’s largest artificial lake by volume. It was completed in 1972 as part of the Ord Irrigation Scheme and is located in the East Kimberley, Western Australia. The lake is home to around 26 species of native fish and a population of freshwater crocodiles estimated at around 25,000. The lake, with its surrounding grasslands support about 150,000 water birds.
During the cruise on the eastern straight of Lake Argyle you will visit Argyle Downs Homestead Museum, the historic home of the Durack family and view the Hydro Plant from across the Ord River. Lunch, tea and coffee is included.
Top off the day with a sunset swim in the largest man-made lake in the Southern Hemisphere. After an amazing Kimberley sunset you will be transferred back to your pick-up location, returning at around 6.30pm,
