Join this small group tour and get out of Tallinn to see Estonia’s most beautiful natural scenery as well as fascinating cultural sights. In Lahemaa, the bays and peninsulas of Estonia’s stunning coastline meet serene forests filled with meandering trails, and all around are charming little fishing villages, ancient burial grounds and splendid manor houses with magnificent landscaped grounds. With a maximum group size of 7 and led by an expert local guide, you will get to experience the best of Estonian nature and learn about its fascinating history. After meeting your guide in Tallinn’s Old Town you will set out towards Lahemaa National Park. We will make a few stops along the way, so you don’t have to worry about spending too long in the car. First up is the Bronze Age burial ground at Rebala. After learning all about the fascinating history of the graves, you will have time to look around before we move on. Our second stop is the charming Kiiu Tower, the smallest castle in the Baltics. Your guide will show you all four levels, before allowing you to sample some local drink if you’re feeling brave. Next up is our big walk for the day, the amazingly beautiful Viru Bog trail, full of peat moss and reflective ponds. We make a lunch stop at a fantastic local café, where you will be hosted by a husband and wife team who produce delicious dishes for all tastes and appetites. Your guide will then lead you around the lovely grounds of Palmse manor, Estonia’s most famous historical estate, before giving you some free time to explore the house. The latter part of the day visits the stunning Estonian coastline, where massive boulders sit among the bays and inlets of the Baltic Sea. We visit the fishing village of Altja, and Käsmu, which is nicknamed the Captain’s village. You will have lots of free time in both of these places, either to capture the beauty with your camera, or maybe just take in the beauty while perched atop a granite boulder. The final stop of the day is Jägala Waterfall, which seemingly appears out of nowhere in the flat Estonian landscape. We return you back to the Old Town in the evening, feeling relaxed and calm after a magnificent day in Estonia’s most loved National Park.
