Discover a side of Ephesus that many have yet to explore. This is a guided tour that will take you to some of the most interesting locations around the Ephesus area. See the landscapes and soak up the atmosphere like many of the locals and receive knowledgeable insights from your professional guide. Some of the locations included are: Bulbul Mountain, Ephesus Ancient City, the Odeon, the Fountain of Trajan, the steam baths of Scholastika, the temple of Hadrian and the impressive library of Celsius. Meet your professionally trained guide and drive to Priene, approximately 45 minutes from Kusadasi. This was once a harbour city but is now located 16 km inland from the sea on the hills of the Mykale Mountain. The theatre in Priene is one of the most beautiful ones from The Hellenic World. The Athena Polias Temple was reconstructed by Alexander The Great as a gift to the city. After Priene, you will continue to the Doganbey Village for Stone Houses. On the edge of the Milipark we have the Old Village of Doganbeg, which dates back from ancient times. The village is like an open air museum, demonstrating the most beautiful examples of Turkish and Greek architecture carrying the traces of pass civilizations. The visitor and information centre is housed in a historical building, along side a chapel and a church. The village, previously know as Domatia was populated by Greeks until the population exchange in 1923 when it became a Turkish village. Some of the buildings where restored in 2001. The village is fast becoming a favorite haunt for filmmakers in search of the perfect location. At present, a German team filmed a new edition of ‘Pinocchio’ in idyllic Aegean location at 2013. After visited this amazing village you will drive west from Doganbey to Karine at the tip of the peninsula, where a couple of small fish restaurants gaze out to sea with only a handful of isolated buildings for company. You will take your lunch at the Karine and continue to the Ephesus Ancient City. Famous in antiquity for its Temple of Artemis during the years of the Roman Empire, the Greek port of Ephesus became the greatest city in Asia Minor. You will start your Ephesus walking tour at the upper Magnesia Gate, and work your way down through the city, ending near the ancient Harbor. Along the way you will See the Odeon, the Fountain of Trajan, the steam baths of Scholastika, the temple of Hadrian and the impressive library of Celsius. The library is adorned with columns and statues. The Grand Theater, where St. Paul preached, is the largest theater in antiquity with a capacity of 24,000 seats. You will return to your private vehicle through the Arcadian Way, where Mark Anthony and Cleopatra once rode in procession. Afterwards you drive back to port of Kusadasi.
