Delight in an evening of classical Viennese music at the acclaimed Kursalon Vienna concert hall, where the waltz was popularized in the 19th century thanks to famous composer Johann Strauss. Revel in the classical masterpieces of Strauss, Mozart and other talented Viennese musicians throughout the centuries during the 2-hour show filled with waltzes, polkas, arias, duets, piano concertos, opera singers and ballet dancers. You'll be a part of history as you step into the Kursalon Vienna concert hall, one of the most remarkable buildings in Vienna, located near the Ringtrasse and Stadtpark. After Johann Strauss’ compositions were first featured here in 1868, waltzes became hugely popular in Vienna, and the Kursalon rapidly became the meeting place of Viennese society to rejoice in this wonderful style of music and entertainment. The venue preserves its historical roots but with a magnificent modern flair, with four magnificent ballrooms on two floors and a massive terrace with views over Stadtpark
Make your way to the concert hall and take your seat in your selected category, then sit back as the Salonorchester Alt Wien concert begins. If you've booked a VIP ticket, enjoy prime seating in the first two rows; you'll receive a glass of sparkling wine during the interval, as well as a Johann Strauss CD and the Kursalon Orchestra program.
Featuring one of today’s best-known interpretations of classical Viennese music, this concert will captivate you with its waltzes, polkas, arias, duets, and operetta and piano concerto melodies, accompanied by opera vocalists and ballet soloists.
Perhaps most poignant are the performances of Strauss’ ‘Voices of Spring,’ ‘Roses from the South,' ‘The Sigh Galop,’ ‘A Little Night Music’ and ‘On the Beautiful Blue Danube,' as well as Mozart’s ‘Rondo alla Turca’ and the overture to the opera Le Nozze di Figaro. Revel in Strauss' 'My Lord Marquis' from The Bat operetta and 'Entree Zsupan' from The Gypsy Baron operetta. You'll also enjoy Johann Schrammel’s ‘Vienna Remains Vienna,' as well many other wonderful pieces from Vienna's musical history.
After the performance, make your own way back to your hotel or linger in the area to continue your Viennese evening.
