Small group adventure of Hilo, Hawaii from scenic drives, waterfalls, macadamia nut farm, orchid gardens to Kilauea Volcano (the most active volcano on earth).
Take a stroll through banyan drive on your way to Liliuokalani gardens for a brief stop to take in the beautiful sites and wonderful photo opportunities. You will drive through downtown Hilo to learn the history from the once booming sugar industry to our destructive tsunamis that changed Hilo town forever.
Rainbow Falls is next stop on your agenda with amazing views that you'll get to experience from a few different angles.
Mauna Loa Macadamia nut orchard and visitor center is your next stop where you get to indulge yourself in 12 different flavors of macadamia nuts from Maui onion and garlic to everyone's favorite chocolate covered! You'll be able to purchase lunch here if you wish. You'll be offered sandwich combos for $6.00 and don't forget the macadamia nut ice cream with 5 flavors to choose from including coconut and mango.
Next stop, you'll go to Akatsuka orchid gardens which offers some amazing sights of the big islands biggest exported flowers. A fun fact, Hawaii Islands nickname is "The Orchid Isle."
And finally, you'll go to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Take a walk through a rainforest on your way to Thurstons lava tube for a hike beneath Kilauea. You'll be able to feel the heat from beneath at the steam vents alongside the caldera. Jaggar museum is located on the rim of Kilauea caldera overlooking Halemaumau Crater.
