The driver/guide will meet you at your hotel for a tour which starts right in the city centre, and will guide you through Niamirambo, the house of first German resident, Presidential Palace, museum, Nyarutarama lake as well as the Kigali Genocide Memorial centre. Your driver/guide will meet you at your hotel for a city tour. In a group of 10 people (min), this tour will continue to the old Quartier commercial, where some old fashioned buildings are still found, before heading to the rapidly changing neighbourhoods via the colorful Nyabugogo valley, which is the main taxi park, serving all four corners of the country.

From Nyabugogo, you will continue to Nyamirambo - famous for its various informal businesses and never sleeps and is known for its nightlife. You will then visit KN 2 Avenue to see the first German colonial residents house of Rwanda built in 1907 and now serves as a Natural History Museum.

The road to the Presidential Palace passes near the Kigali International airport. The museum is a short way east of the airport as well as the Kanombe Military Hospital. In the process of being progressively restored, this former presidential palace is located on the eastern outskirts of the city. Only very few exhibits are found there, yet it is worth visiting. You will still see the wreckage of the presidential plane where it was shot down – over the garden wall!

After this trip, you will drive to the Nyarutarama lake in which the locals have been swimming and fishing in the past years. Today, the area is very well-protected, with a wide variety of birds, such as the Swamp Flycatcher, Red-backed Shrike, Spot-flanked Barbet, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, Yellow-billed Duck, Bat Hawk, African Hobby, Cisticolas, Red-chested Cuckoo,Little Bee-eater, Squacco Heron, Sunbirds, to name but a few.

Later in the afternoon, your guide will drive you to the Kigali Genocide Memorial centre. It is estimated that more than 250,000 victims are buried in this Memorial. Audioguided, you will be led in different areas of the Memorial.

At the end of the tour, your driver will take you back to your hotel.
