Arrive at the base camp and start your Alaskan off-roading adventure with a safety briefing about how to maneuver your Tomcar, the off-road utility vehicle used on the tour. Then put on your gear, including helmet, and hop in your 2-person Tomcar! You can take the wheel or ride in the passenger seat as you follow your guide into the wilderness, but everyone will have the opportunity to drive.
Drive along the 14 miles of bumpy tracks, enjoying the experience of being in the Alaskan backcountry. At the direction of your guide, stop along the way at lookout points to take photos of waterfalls and admire the views of Behm Canal, Clover Passage, Tongass National Forest and the Inside Passage.
Watch for native wildlife like deer, eagles or possibly even a bear, and stop midway through to enjoy a light snack and some water. At this point, you can change drivers if you wish before heading back to base camp, where you can browse for souvenirs in the gift shop or purchase action photos from the tour, if you'd like.
