Meet your guide in Keio Plaza Hotel's South Tower in Tokyo’s Shinjuku for your day trip to Katsunuma, Japan’s first and popular wine-producing region. Board a bus and travel west for 90 minutes to the prefecture of Yamanashi, where Katsunuma is located.

Enjoy a 30-minute stop at Katsunuma Winery, nestled in rich green rolling hills, and learn about the three-generation-old winery founded in 1937, also known by the name of Aruga Branca. See how the wine is processed using Koshu grapes, Japan’s indigenous grapes, and then sample more than ten kinds of wine, including white and red varieties.

With your appetite now opened up, settle in at a nearby restaurant for a scrumptious lunch of red snow crab and shabu-shabu, thinly sliced meats and vegetables in dipping sauce.

Afterward, stretch your legs at an orchard and have fun picking peaches, Kyoho grapes or whatever fruits are in season, right off the tree or vine. As you wind your way around the field for 30 minutes, taste as many fruits as you like (please note you’ll won’t be allowed to take the fruit out of the orchard).

Next, delight in a visual feast of flower fields with a beautiful view of snowcapped Mt Fuji in the background. You’ll travel to either Lake Kawaguchi or Lake Yamanaka, two of the Fuji Five Lakes that are part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.

Take a leisurely stroll around the lake and depending on when you visit, you could enjoy the Lavender Festival in June to early July, zinnia blooms from late July through August, and fields blanketed with sunflowers in September.

After nearly an hour in this unforgettable landscape, return to your bus that takes you back to Tokyo. You’ll be dropped off at night in Shinjuku.
