The Nitmiluk Gorge is made up of 13 separate gorges. This maze of waterways has been sculpted from the sandstone over countless millennia by the Katherine River. Experience the beauty, history and culture of the Northern Territory’s Nitmiluk National Park.Once you have boarded, your boat driver and Nitmiluk river guide will explain the ancient heritage of the landscape and its' significance to the Katherine region and the Jawoyn People. This cruise through the first gorge is done with a cultural interpretation at a Rock Art site along with a swim opportunity.
Cruise through the first two gorges of Katherine Gorge. Between each gorge, there is a 500-meter walk which will require you to disembark the vessel before joining the boat in the next gorge.
With a maximum group size of 8 people and your Indigenous guide, visit a private Rock Art site and reflect on the ingenuity and knowledge that represents thousands of years of learning and observation adorning the gorge cliff faces. This cruise is not only educational but also interactive and can include basket weaving, didjeridoo playing, spear throwing and storytelling. Towards the end of the tour, there is also an opportunity for a refreshing swim.

Boarding commences 15-minutes prior to departure at the Nitmiluk Boat Jetty, please allow approximately 30-minutes travel time from the township of Katherine.
