The Jordan Castle Tour is a noble experience in the kingdom. Visit the grounds of the Crusades with a visit to Kerak Castle built by the Crusader King Baldwin I of Jerusalem, one of the best preserved and ‘awe’ Crusaders Castles in the Middle East. The Kerak Castle, known in Aramaic Karka 'the walled town city.' The tour takes you 900 meters above sea level and lies inside the walls of the old city. Throughout the castle, the dark and roughly shaped Crusader masonry is easy to discern from the finely crafted blocks of lighter and softer limestone used in many Arab works. The Castle is amazing with highlights that include: The Tower, Entrance Gate, Museum, Underground Galleries, Vault Room, Crusader Church and much more. (Prior to entering the Crusader Castle, there are optional local guides available to hire). Afterwards return to your driver where you will head to the city of Kerak that boasts a number of restored 19th century Ottoman buildings, craft centers, and shops for you to visit. Kerak is famous for Jordan's famous dish Mansaf. Your driver can take you to an authentic Jordanian restaurant and taste Jordan’s famous meal or settle with a light snack.
Next you will head east to the Desert Castles. Journey East of Amman and see the many relics of the early and medieval Islamic period of Jordan. The Desert Castle tour is an experience to the fine mosaics, frescoes, stones and stucco carving which were inspirations from the Persian and Graeco-Roman traditions. During the tour, you will see numerous historic Ruins, including Castles, Forts, Caravan inns, and fortified Palaces. Highlighting an UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Jordan's best preserved of the desert castles is Qasr Amra.
After a full day of exploring Jordan’s Castle, your friendly driver will have you back in Amman about 16.00 or 17.00.
