Enjoy the drive as your driver/guide narrates the journey, while climbing up Jerusalem mountains from the sea shore.
You'll explore the Christian Quarter of Jerusalem as you make your way to the Holy Sepulcher Church. You'll stop and visit the Cavalry, Golgotha, numerous internal shrines and Jesus’ tomb. You'll then descend the depths of St. Helen Church to the cave where the Holy Cross was found.
You'll then take a 15-minute drive to Bethlehem from the Old City located in Palestine. You'll cross the border into Palestine, which will take only a few minutes. Make sure to have your passport and any necessary travel documents with you on the day of the tour.
You'll stop and visit the Church of the Nativity at Manger Square, one of the oldest churches in the world. You'll be able to walk through the church, where religious ceremonies have been performed for seventeen hundred years. You'll see the medieval castle built above the underground room referred to as the cave or grotto where Jesus was born to Mary.
Next, you'll head to The Grotto of the Nativity by way of the steep stairway. You'll see the Altar with the inscribed star commemorating the nativity and the manger where Jesus was born. You'll stop at St. Catherine of Alexandria formerly a Franciscan Convent where you'll view the stained glass window, representative of the nativity, and The Bas-relief of the Tree of Jesse, given to the church by Pope Benedict XVI. You'll then make your way to the cave that serves as passage between the grottoes of St. Joseph, St. Jerome and the Innocents as you hear about the Massacre of the Innocents ordered by Herod the Great prior to Jesus’ birth. Next, you'll visit The Shepherd’s Fields, these fields of Beit Sahour are believed to be where the angels announced the birth of Jesus to the shepherds.
Lastly, you'll be able to relax and enjoy the scenic drive back to your hotel by going through Jerusalem as your guide continues to provide you with commentary during this journey. Your last stop before reaching your hotel will be at the Observation point for a panoramic view of the Holy City and you'll be given a few minutes to take great photos to capture the beautiful scenic view.
