Skip the hassle of driving with this convenient transportation and admission deal that allows you to focus on the fun, food, and wine. After morning pickup at your choice of three convenient locations around Sydney, simply sit back and relax on board your air-conditioned coach during the approximately 2.5-hour trip to the Hunter Valley.
The festival takes place outdoors on the grounds of Tyrrell’s Winery, a gorgeous 15-acre (6-hectare) site at the foot of the Brokenback Mountains. While listening to terrific tunes, you can try the region’s legendary food and wine. Local restaurants sell fantastic prepared foods along with cheese and other produce; Hunter Valley goods are featured in dishes that range from fresh seafood and Spanish fare to sliders and gourmet sausages.
Purchase red, white and sparkling wines by the glass from premier Hunter Valley wineries such as Tyrrell’s, Drayton’s Winery, Tamburlaine Wines and Peterson House. Both Tyrrell’s and Drayton’s are family-owned wineries with roots in the valley that date back to the late 1800s. Tamburlaine is Australia’s largest producer of organic wines and Peterson House specializes in sparkling wines.
Other tips for attending? If you don't want to bring your own chairs, rent deck chairs at the festival. You can also bring your own picnic (glass containers and alcohol are not allowed in the festival).
At the end of a fantastic day, simply meet your coach at the designated time to return to your starting point in Sydney.
