Be amazed by the tradition and authenticity of the city of Izamal, a center of religious peregrination from immemorial times. Visit the convent of Izamal walking through its spacious atrium. Climb to the Pyramids of El Conejo and Kinich Kakmó.Izamal city is also known as the “City of the Three Cultures” due the presence of Pre-Columbian, Colonial and Contemporary architectural styles in its main buildings, witness of the rich history of the place.

You will begin the tour with pickup from your hotel in Merida to visit the center of Izamal, where the San Antonio de Padua convent is located. This Franciscan convent was built in 1553, atop of what it was the tallest pyramid in the city, Pap-Hol-Chac. You will learn more about the history and admire the colonial architecture of this place and its famous spacious atrium with 75 arches. Admire the yellow-painted houses of this town and have the opportunity of buying beautiful crafts from local artisans.

Then, you will board an old-fashioned horse-drawn carriage for touring the city over its cobblestone streets, stopping at the small Pyramid of El Conejo and the Pyramid of Kinich Kakmó, a ten level structure and the tallest archaeological structure in Yucatan State. A traditional Yucatecan lunch is included.
