Begin your eco-adventure with pickup from your hotel or the airport in Flores at 8am, and head to Guatemala's Ixpanpajul Natural Park, an approximate 20-minute drive away. This 1,110-acre (450-hectare) forest, located in the cradle of the Mayan civilization, is home to more than 200 species of trees, 150 species of birds and around 40 species of mammals.
Upon arrival, enjoy a tour of the skyway, walking along six amazing suspension bridges. Your guide will point out the unique flora and fauna from up high—a wonderful way to bird watch! At 10:30am, take a 30-minute break at Miramás Hill. Rest in a comfortable hammock and enjoy 360-degree views of the majestic jungle of Petén.
Next, gear up for your zipline adventure on a 1.5-hour canopy tour through the treetops. Your journey covers nine daring platforms along a crossed-cable system, placed in the highest leafy trees. Soar through the jungle on an unforgettable ride as you take in the landscape below. Keep an eye out for birds and other magnificent wildlife as you fly. Your guide will ensure your comfort and safety at all times.
When you descend to level ground, hop on a horse or a tractor (your choice) for a fun ride around a pathway that encircles a plantation of fruit trees. Afterwards, there’s plenty of time for lunch (own expense) and free time before you’re transported back to your hotel or the airport around 2:30pm.
