Take this weekend break and travel across the English Channel to the Southern British Island of the Isle of Wight. The island is known for its natural beauty and world famous sailing base as well as Osborne House, the royal seaside palace of Queen Victoria and her family. This overnight trip includes hotel accommodation with breakfast, a visit to the famous needles, entrance to Osborne House, return luxury coach and ferry travel and the services of a tour manager.
After our central London pickups, we begin our journey to Southampton where we will board the 10am Red Funnel Ferry across to East Cowes in the Isle of Wight. At approximately 12pm we will arrive and travel to Osborne House where entrance is includes. You will have free time to explore the palace, which was built between 1845 and 1851 for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert as a summer home and rural retreat. We will then continue on to Sandown and check into our hotel before the remainder of the afternoon and evening is left to your leisure to discover the seaside town.
On our second day, after breakfast in the hotel, you will meet your tour manager at approximately 9am for another day of sightseeing. We will visit the seaside resort of Shanklin where you will be able to explore the seaside resort famous Old Village before continuing on to Ventnor, another seaside town which is known to be the highest point on the Isle of Wight, built on steep slopes and cliffs leading down to the sea. We will then venture to the other side of the Island where you will be able to get some great photos of the islands famous Needle, a row of three distinctive stacks of chalk that rise out of the sea. After a full day of exploring, we will travel to the ferry port for our 5:30pm ferry crossing back to Southampton. Our expected arrival time back in London is 9pm.
