Enjoy a memorable evening concert of baroque music by the acclaimed Interpreti Veneziani ensemble in the heart of Venice. Head for the Church of San Vidal and take your seat for a performance of lilting baroque concertos and sinfonias by composers such as Mozart, Handel, Bach and Vivaldi. Immerse yourself in such soul-stirring works as Vivaldi’s "The Four Seasons" and Mozart’s "A Little Night Music," all brought to life by the passion and skill of the ensemble, and enriched by the 17th-century setting and clear acoustics.
Make your own way to the Church of San Vidal in central Venice in plenty of time for the start of the concert. Then, head inside and admire the 17th-century interior as you take your seat.
No longer used as a church, the San Vidal has found its niche as an intimate concert venue and offers not only a historic setting, but pin-sharp acoustics, making it a wonderful venue for chamber music, and in particular, baroque.
Feel the anticipation build as the Interpreti Veneziani ensemble takes to the stage under the gaze of the altarpiece painting San Vidal on Horseback by Vittore Carpaccio. The musicians play on original instruments and are acclaimed for their skill, so you can look forward to their performance with verve.
Once the ensemble strikes up, sit back and let the music take over. The program focuses on baroque pieces and changes from day to day, so you could be treated to anything from Vivaldi’s "The Four Seasons" to Mozart’s "A Little Night Music," Pergolesi’s "Concerto for Violin" and other works. See the Itinerary for the 2015 concert calendar.
