Your 7-hour canoe experience exploring the stunning nature of British Columbia’s 12-mile-long (20-km) saltwater fjord, Indian Arm, begins in the morning at Deep Cove. Get acquainted with your guide as you prepare to embark on a trip to see mountains, granite cliffs and shining blue waters. Once you descend into the fjord, take a moment to admire the nature, including the possibility of seeing black bears, seals and bald eagles.
Listen as your guide shares stories of the First Nations’ history while you paddle through the placid waters looking for cormorants and other beautiful birds. It’s not just the skies and mountains that are filled with wildlife, but the water as well. Peer into the clear fjord and look for jellyfish, sea stars, crabs and many varieties of fish species as you coast along. Pull up to shore for lunch and enjoy a gourmet meal and traditional First Nations bannock (a kind of quick bread).
Continue canoeing, taking brief breaks to watch the wildlife. Watch for more breathtaking sights and nature on your journey back to shore at the end of the day.
