The Inca jungle Trail is a new route offered to Machu Picchu which involves biking, walking and just being. This multiple terrain trip includes recently discovered real Inca paths, archaeological ruins and a 60 kilometer bike downhill. This is done on brand new mountain bikes through the mountains from Abra Malaga to the green valleys below and the jungle base of Santa Maria. The four day, three night trip ends with a dawn view of the valleys below Machu Picchu.

Day 1: Cusco to Santa Maria (L, D)
You will be picked up from your Cusco hotel and be dropped off at the 4,316m high Abra Malaga. You will get your bike, receive a briefing and put on helmet and gloves and start your adventure with an experienced tour guide. You'll bike down some challenging roads,passing by amazing landscapes. You'll stop at Alfamayo after 3 hours. Enjoy a box lunch and rest for a while. Then, continue riding to Humanmarca. Have a guided tour of this archaeological site and continue descending to reach the town of Santa Maria. Enjoy dinner and rest at the holte for the night.
Day 2: Santa Maria to Santa Teresa (B, L, D)
Get up at 5:30am and have breakfast. Begin your walk heading up to Santa Rosa where you can relax for a while as you admire the landscapes. Continue your hike until you reach the real Inca Trail. You'll descent for two hours and reach the village of Qellomayo, where you will have lunch. Then, you'll end the walk passing by a river to reach Santa Teresa where you will rest for the night.
Day 3: Santa Teresa to Aguas Calientes (B, L, D)
Wake up at 7am and have breaksfast. Then take a private transport to the town of Lucmabamba which is the entrance to another Inca Trail which was discovered just a few years ago. You'll walk this part of the trail for 3.5 hours and see amazing scenery including parrots. Finally, you'll reach a breathtaking view of Machu Picchu from the top of Llactapata, flanked by the giant peak of Salkantay. Enjoy lunch here and take in the views. Then, walk down for 2 hours to reach the hydro-electric train station and take the train to Aguas Calientes. Enjoy dinner and rest for the night.
Day 4: Machu Picchu to Cusco (B, L)
Wake up early and take the first bus to Machu Picchu at 5.30am, arriving at 6am, which with luck will coincide with a beautiful sunrise!Enjoy a guided tour and then have time to explore on your own. Then, you'll head back to Aguas Calientes and catch the train to Ollantaytambo and then the bus to Cusco.
