Spend a Spartacus-style evening in Rome, enjoying a gladiator show with dinner at Gruppo Storico Romano. While a gladiator school by day, the attraction puts on a captivating reenactment of a gladiator fight in the evening, complete with dances typical of Ancient Rome. Watch the armored gladiators clash their swords in the ring, and then enjoy a traditional Roman meal served with honeyed wine. Start your evening experience with a pickup from the Arch of Constantine (in Ancient Rome) or alternatively, head directly to Gruppo Storico Romano on Rome’s Ancient Appia road. The famous gladiator school is run by one of the city’s historical reenactment societies – an organization that aims to bring the days of the Roman Empire to life.

Take a seat at your table near the attraction’s gladiator ring, and relax while watching the performance of gladiator fights and ancient dances. Using real weapons and replica costumes, the actors show off classic combat tactics and moves that were once used to entertain the braying Roman masses. Gasp in astonishment at their athletic maneuvers and cheer on your favorite gladiator to win.

After your show, a waiter will serve a typical Roman meal with mulsum (aromatic honeyed wine) at your table. Dishes vary each time, but typical meals include an oven-cooked pasta dish with spiced meat and mushrooms, served alongside libum – a loaf of bread made from honey. Sit back and relax in this oh-so unique setting, enjoying a meal fit for an emperor.

If you booked the option with transport included, meet your driver at the pre-arranged point after dinner, and then finish your experience with a drop-off at the Arch of Constantine. Alternatively, your experience finishes at Gruppo Storico Romano.

Please note: specific dietary requirements can be catered for if advised in advance. Note this in the 'special requirements' field on booking.
