After leaving Split, the trip proceeds towards Omiš, through the region historically known as Republic of Poljica, which history dates back to the 13th century. We will pass under Perun, the mountain from where view overlooks the stunning canyon of the Cetina River, which is considered one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Croatia.
We will pass through the town of Omis, which is rich in history; it has numerous monuments and it is culture center of the traditional A Capella singing. The tour continues along the Omiš Riviera, along the most beautiful sand and pebble beaches in Croatia with stunning clear and blue sea.
First stop is in the village of Marusici, home of olive oil mill "Orgula", the main olive oil producer of this region. It is family owned olive oil mill. After presentations of olive oil production processes, guests are offered homemade liqueurs and sweets, as well as the possibility to buy olive oil from domestic producers.
The trip goes then to Vrulja, where there is a source of fresh water located below the surface of the sea. Vrulja is a protected natural park with beautiful pebble beaches, unexplored caves and where the sea depth reaches up to a hundred meters. Many legends have been told about this mystical place and its beauty leaves no one indifferent.
We will drive through the protected nature park Biokovo and stop by in Cista Provo to see headstones from 12th centuries proving existence of Christianity in that time. Further, we go to Grabovac winery located in Proložac Donji, which is next to Imotski. The owner of the winery, with the help of his enologist, shows the production of its wines, with emphasize on the production of his famous sparkling wine. Guests will have a generous tasting of several types of wines and authentic dishes of this region.
The tour continues, passing through the vineyards, owned by Grabovac winery, towards the Red Lake which is the deepest lake in Europe and then towards the Blue Lake which is usually considered, along with the Red Lake, as the most beautiful lake in Croatia. Guests will have free time in center of Imotski which is the town of stone houses, antique striking vistas, and steep streets cover by Dalmatian stone.
The final feature of the tour is eco-ethno village Grabovci situated in Proložac, just few kilometres from Imotski. It is recently renovated place showing true beauty of inland Dalmatia, where the natural setting manifests tranquillity. You will enjoy authentic food produced on neighbouring farms. In addition, you will taste local specialities while visiting a small ham production facility, where the owner will lead a tour and explain the process of ham production.
