Take in the rugged, rock-strewn landscape of Thingvellir National Park, Thingvellir, the great National Park, which was accepted on the UNESCO World Heritage list for its cultural values in 2004. The place is surrounded by beautiful mountain side and includes the magnificent lake Thingvallarvatn and the spectacular gorge Almannagjá. It was here where Alþingi, the Icelandic Parliament, was founded in the year of 930 and here it continued to convene until the year of 1798. Thingvellir is therefore the place where major events in Iceland‘s history has taken place and is still a place for gathering on special occasions.

Then visit the magnificent waterfall Gullfoss (translated as "Golden Falls"). It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland and the most visited one. Here you can enjoy the sight of the forces of untouched nature and watch the water fall down around 105-foot (32-mt).

Last stop is at an active geothermic zone to see the steaming Strokkur. Strokkur spouts large amount of water into the air every 6 minutes or so, often 10-20 meters above the ground.
